Existing backhaul and access is too expensive and misapplied:
- T1 carrier, a 1960’s technology, is too slow and too expensive.
- The installation and right-of-way costs associated make fiber cost prohibitive for speeds below 1Gbps.
- Legacy FDD PTP fixed microwave is a misapplied technology -- spectrum-wasteful and unnecessarily expensive for high density (4G and Enterprise) Ethernet applications.
